Investing
If you live in Canada like me, Wealthsimple Trade is the best choice. It offers free unlimited trades, fractionnal shares (so you can invest with as little as 1$) and it is simple to use. You can invest in single stocks or you can choose any of the multiple ETF available. It is simple and fast to deposit money to trade, but also to withdraw if you have an emergency. Since my goal is long term, I don't invest in single stocks unless I saw a valid tip that it will increase in value. I choose ETF that follow the S&P 500 or ETF that have high dividends.
If you live in the United States, the best robot advisor, which is a platform that invest your money for you, is Betterment. They charge 0,25% of the money you invest to manage your money every year. In exchange, they manage the funds and use their knowledge to make you pay less taxes that if you had invested yourself! Betterment is simple; you invest and choose how much risk you are ready to take. You don't need to manage your portfolio or look at the markets; they take care of everything. So this type of investing is really passive!
